RIYADH: After discussing regional security, freedom of navigation, and ties between Riyadh and Berlin, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, agreed on Sunday to begin a strategic dialogue between the two nations at the level of foreign ministers.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the two ministers met in Berlin to discuss ways to further collaboration in a number of areas as well as the long-standing ties between Saudi Arabia and Germany. They talked about the most recent events in the area, stressing how crucial it is to guarantee the safety and security of international waterways as well as freedom of navigation.
The two sides emphasised the necessity of returning the Strait of Hormuz to its regular state, claiming that doing so would guarantee the smooth operation of international trade and contribute to regional security and stability. Additionally, they reiterated their support for diplomatic and nonviolent means of resolving regional and global challenges.
The volume of trade between the two nations and strategies to boost it by generating more chances for collaboration and investment in a variety of industries were also covered in the discussion on economic and trade relations.
