The “Hedayathon” event, which took place this week in Jeddah and was organised by the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques in partnership with the University of Jeddah, brought attention to the role that contemporary technology and artificial intelligence play in promoting religious awareness and tourist services.
The interactive digital platforms that are supposed to enhance the experience of pilgrims and visitors were brought under the scrutiny of a panel. The participants emphasised the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainable technology solutions in overcoming language hurdles, streamlining the delivery of knowledge, and making worship more accessible.
Another session on religious translation also covered the Arabic language and the use of artificial intelligence systems to interpret the meanings of the Holy Qur’an. Experts emphasised the importance of training artificial intelligence systems on translations that have been properly checked in order to protect consistency and accuracy in content.
Hedayathon is a manifestation of the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the University of Jeddah, with the goal of promoting digital innovation and developing individualised technical solutions to promote the religious awareness ecosystem across the Two Holy Mosques Region.
