RIYADH: On Tuesday, the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office of the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs inked a diplomatic training agreement.
During a remote meeting conducted via video call, Lord Tariq Ahmad, the British minister of state for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, the Commonwealth, and the UN, and Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji signed the agreement.
According to both sides, the program will support developing and enhancing collaboration in information sharing, research endeavors, and educational initiatives.
The parties seized the chance to talk about Saudi-UK development collaboration and the conflicts in Sudan and Gaza, according to the FCDO. Happy to sign a diplomats’ training agreement with Waleed Al-Khuraiji, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister,” Ahmad stated.
“We also discussed the need for an immediate stop in Gaza, with irreversible steps to a two-state solution, conflict resolution in Sudan, as well as development cooperation,” he continued in a post on the social networking platform X.
According to a statement from the Saudi ministry, the agreement concerns a collaboration initiative between the FCDO of the UK and Northern Ireland and the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies at the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
