PARIS: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Saudi Arabia and the World Food Programme have inked a cooperative agreement that will provide $4.85 million to address malnutrition in children under five years old and in pregnant and breastfeeding women in Yemen.
The EU and France arranged the Paris-based International Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries, which coincided with the signing. Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor to the Royal Court and general supervisor of KSrelief, and Cindy McCain, executive director of WFP, signed the agreement.
The agreement was signed in Paris on the fringes of the International Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries, sponsored by the EU and France.
By distributing supplements in certain places, it seeks to enhance the nutritional status of Yemen’s most impoverished population, benefiting 86,985 individuals.
WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain and Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, KSrelief’s supervisor general and advisor to the Royal Court, signed the agreement.
