RIYADH: In an effort to draw in tourists from outside, Saudi Arabia is establishing itself as a leading location for health and wellness tourism. To this end, it is building specialised medical facilities and spa resorts.
Dr. Saad Baslom, consultant for the Kingdom’s Health Sector Transformation Program, gave insightful remarks about Saudi Arabia’s rising significance in health tourism at the Global Health Exhibition, which took place in Riyadh from October 21 to 23. During a session at the summit called “Investment Opportunities in Health Tourism and Wellness in KSA,” Baslom talked about the nation’s standing as a global leader in health tourism.
“The Saudi Ministry of Health is actively transforming the healthcare system by fostering partnerships with the private sector and integrating complementary medicine into mainstream healthcare,” he told Arab News, highlighting the Kingdom’s progress. Herbal medicine and acupuncture are becoming essential parts of holistic care.
According to Baslom, this integration establishes Saudi Arabia as a travel destination that provides a holistic health tourism experience enhanced by the country’s long-standing traditions and customs.
