In Riyadh, the Global Cybersecurity Forum and the Global Summit on Child Protection in Cyberspace get Underway

Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, the deputy emir of Riyadh, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s great interest in anything that would promote the wealth and advancement of humanity. On Wednesday, he delivered the opening speech at the 4th annual Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) in Riyadh.

Prince Mohammed said that Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman announced the inauguration of the first-ever Child Protection in Cyberspace worldwide Summit with its goals targeted at unifying international efforts and boosting the worldwide response to the threats facing children in cyberspace. “This forum and its participants with their specialised international expertise come at a time when there is a growing need to strengthen international efforts and harmonise them towards a safe and reliable cyberspace that enables growth and prosperity for all peoples of the world.

The two-day GCF is being sponsored by King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and has as its theme “Advancing Collective Action in Cyberspace.” The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) is organizing the GCF, in partnership with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), the technical arm of the authority, with the purpose to strengthen international cooperation in tackling important issues in cyberspace.

An elite group of CEOs and decision-makers from many international organisations, including the governmental and academic sectors, as well as significant global corporations from 120 countries, will attend the event.
