Washington — The most recent phase of a protracted legal battle has been won by a Tesla whistleblower who has been fighting Elon Musk and his firm in the courts for years. After bringing up a safety issue in 2014 regarding a design fault that may have affected the cars’ brakes, engineer Cristina Balan lost her job. When a court upheld an arbitration ruling that dismissed her case, it appeared that her defamation action against the business had reached its end. However, a California panel of appeal judges overturned this ruling in her favour.
She informed BBC News that she now wants to go to court against Tesla and Elon Musk. A request for comment from Tesla has not received a response. According to Ms. Balan, the case will essentially start again and fresh procedures can be started. “We are hoping we will start a new lawsuit and we will have the chance to take on Elon Musk in front of a jury and judge,” she stated. At one point, the engineer was so well-known at Tesla that the batteries in Model S cars bore her initials. She stated last year in an interview with BBC News that she is committed to proving her innocence for her son’s sake.
