Saudi Arabia Advances Plans for a Quantum-Driven Economy

RIYADH: On Sunday, August 30, researchers, government representatives, and technology leaders discussed the global quantum economy and how Saudi Arabia is defining its role in this quickly developing field. The focus of the Quantum Forum 2026 in Riyadh was the shift from scientific potential to economic readiness.

As the field develops, the Kingdom’s immediate priority is on creating the researchers, partnerships, infrastructure, legislation, and business environment required to facilitate the practical application of quantum technology.

Saudi Arabia’s early involvement goes beyond having access to quantum computers in the future. Developing talent, creating pertinent applications, and securing a place in the global quantum value chain are the overarching goals. Shaping the Quantum Workforce” was the theme of the Quantum Forum, which took place at King Salman Science Oasis.

Policymakers, researchers, businesspeople, and industry representatives gathered at the event, which was organised by the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Saudi Arabia in strategic collaboration with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, King Salman Science Oasis, and the Institute for Advanced Studies and Cooperation.
