President Vucic of Serbia Ends his Trip to the US and Goes back Home after Becoming Unwell

BELGRADE: According to official RTS television on Saturday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has cancelled his trip to the United States and returned to Serbia due to an undisclosed health issue. According to the story, Vucic opted to go back home after speaking with physicians after becoming unexpectedly unwell at a conference in the United States. It also stated that following his arrival, he was taken to the Belgrade Military Hospital.

Vucic has already met with Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, in Miami, Florida. Additionally, Vucic had expressed his desire to meet with US President Donald Trump. US presidential envoy for special missions Richard Grenell said he hoped Vucic would get better. Grenell said on X, “I hope everything is okay, but I’m sorry to miss you.

What transpired was unclear at first, and Vucic’s office stated that they will update the public later. Vucic, who is 55, has a history of high blood pressure. Although European Union officials have warned that this might impact Serbia’s ambition to join the EU, Serbia’s populist leader has also stated that he will visit Russia later this month to attend a Victory Day celebration in Moscow.
