The CEO of a Saudi Fund Discusses the Economic Influence of Culture

RIYADH: The CEO of the Saudi Cultural Development Fund stated at Expo 2025 Osaka that Saudi Arabia is moving forward with unshakeable confidence in the direction of a better future, respecting its rich cultural heritage while gaining strength from an ambitious goal for a sustainable cultural industry. Majed bin Abdulmohsen Al-Hugail participated online at a panel discussion titled “Creative Sustainability: Investing in Culture with Long-Term Impact.

The Saudi Cultural Development Fund is dedicated to promoting long-term impact and sustainable growth within the cultural sector through creative ideas and strategic alliances across the governmental, corporate, and nonprofit sectors.

The fund’s innovative solutions are helping to transform Saudi Arabia’s cultural industry into a significant economic force and promote long-term sustainability that is completely in line with Vision 2030’s goals.

Al-Hugail highlighted the economic significance of culture, stating that real investment resides in ensuring the cultural sector’s long-term viability within the economy and goes beyond infrastructure or innovation alone. “At the Saudi Cultural Development Fund, sustainability is not just a goal; it is at the core of everything we do,” Al-Hugail stated during the panel discussion. Key metrics that conform to international environmental, social, and governance standards serve as the foundation for our strategy.
