In honor of International Youth Day, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is highlighting the Saudi’s dedication to empowering the youth of the country.
Every year on August 12, International Youth Day is observed to honor young people’s contributions to society’s advancement and to bring attention to issues that impact them.
“From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” is this year’s global theme, recognizing the ways in which technology is changing the globe.
The ministry said in a statement on August 12 that the government has created 20 programs aimed at empowering youth, all of which fall under the umbrella of the theme “Our Youth is our Wealth.”
These are covered under the nation’s Youth Development Strategy, which also contains a broad framework for their career and development management.
The government recently introduced a professional certificate program for young professionals and conducted more than fifteen workshops to increase awareness of the approach.
According to the ministry, since they make up the majority of the population in the Kingdom, young people between the ages of 15 and 39 are a crucial foundation for societal and economic change.
In 1998, during the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in Lisbon, Portugal, the concept for International Youth Day was initially put forth.
