RIYADH: The Defence Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that a delegation from Saudi Arabia visited the US National Defence University and the UK Defence Academy to investigate global best practices in military education and leadership development.
Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Ruwaili, President of National Defence University, and Maj. Gen. Adel Al-Balawi, Chief of the Armed Forces Training and Development Authority, were among the delegation, which was led by Dr. Samir bin Abdulaziz Altubayyeb, CEO of the Ministry of Defence Transformation Program and a Ministry of Defence adviser.
The team examined methods for military education, leadership development, curriculum design, academic governance, and the application of contemporary technology and artificial intelligence in education throughout the trips.
Joint education and matching academic curricula to the demands of future operations were also topics of debate at the US National Defence University. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Ruwaili, Maj. Gen. Adel Al-Balawi, and Dr. Samir bin Abdulaziz Altubayyeb, CEO of the Ministry of Defence Transformation Program and Ministry of Defence Advisor, headed the delegation.
