The Eighth Kuwaiti Humanitarian Aircraft Bound for Syria Lands at Damascus Airport

LONDON: To help Syrians weather the severe winter, Kuwait sent its eighth relief aircraft to Syria on Monday, carrying ten tonnes of food and other necessities. It was a component of the Al-Salam Association charity’s Kuwait Is By Your Side campaign, which was started in collaboration with the defence, foreign, and social affairs ministries.

The plane brought winter goods, including as blankets and bulky clothes, and food aid when it touched down at Damascus International Airport. Since late December, Kuwait has collaborated with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent organisation to send 200 tonnes of relief supplies, including food and medication, to Syria.

As part of the association’s initiative, another relief plane is scheduled to leave for Syria on Thursday, according to Hamad Al-Oun, general manager of Al-Salam, who spoke to Kuwait News Agency. He stated that Al-Salam’s assistance was in accordance with directives from Kuwait’s political leadership to aid those in need in Syria.
