Jordanian King Slams Washington Hotel Attack During Call with Trump

During a phone chat with President Donald Trump of the United States on Monday, King Abdullah of Jordan delivered a statement in which he condemned the armed attack that attacked the dinner hosted by the White House Correspondents’ Association.

According to a report by the Petra news agency, the two leaders addressed recent events in the Middle East, highlighted the necessity of restoring stability, and discussed the efforts that the United States is making in this respect. An individual made an attempt to break security at the media gala that was hosted at the Washington Hilton, which resulted in the evacuation of President Trump and First Lady Melania.

The suspect, who was later named as Cole Tomas Allen, is said to have assaulted a Secret Service member while equipped with firearms and knives. He is also accused of firing at the agent. A charge of attempted assassination of President Trump and a charge of seizing firearms were brought against him on Monday. The annual gathering of journalists and politicians, which was held in a formal attire, was attended by around 2,600 individuals.
