The ways in which NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is Supporting Saudi Arabia's shift to Sustainable Energy

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is demonstrating leadership in the production of green hydrogen and establishing itself as a global hub for the production and export of sustainable energy, even as efforts to tackle climate change gain momentum worldwide.

The NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, a fundamental part of Vision 2030—the Kingdom’s economic diversification plan away from oil and towards sustainability—lays the groundwork for this change. Green hydrogen has become a vital weapon in the fight against climate change. It is created by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable energy sources like solar and wind power.

Green hydrogen provides an emission-free alternative to grey or blue hydrogen, which are derived from natural gas and release carbon dioxide or call for carbon capture technology. It can be utilised in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, energy storage, and transportation.

NGHC is using Saudi Arabia’s plentiful wind and sunlight to create green hydrogen on a large scale as part of the country’s long-term energy plan.

In addition to lowering Saudi Arabia’s carbon footprint at home, the project will establish the Kingdom as a significant global provider of green hydrogen, which will lower emissions in other nations.
