RIYADH: According to the Saudi Press Agency, Abdullah Mustafa, a well-known Muslim scholar from Thailand who is a guest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Program for Umrah and Visit, has thanked Saudi Arabia for playing a crucial part in influencing his life and career.
With a scholarship from the Islamic University of Madinah, a young Mustafa set off on a transformative voyage to Saudi Arabia fifty years ago. He remembered with nostalgia the Prophet’s Mosque’s modesty in his youth, which stood in sharp contrast to the great religious icon it is today.
Mustafa studied Islam extensively throughout his 16 years in Saudi Arabia, graduating with a degree in interfaith interaction and Islamic activism. His scholarly endeavors were especially concentrated on comprehending Buddhism, which is the most common religion in Thailand, and creating successful outreach plans for Muslims.
He committed his life to promoting Islam after returning to Thailand. In order to make the Holy Qur’an more widely available, he translated it into Thai. His unwavering efforts have boosted Thailand’s Muslim community and resulted in many conversions.
He underlined the long-lasting effects of Saudi Arabia’s assistance to Muslims around the world and the “esteemed” standing that Saudi university graduates enjoy in a number of domains, such as Islamic law and education. As he looks to the future, Mustafa said he hopes his daughter, who is presently enrolled at Taibah University in Madinah, would carry on his tradition of promoting Islam.
