Jeddah Book Fair 2025: A Closer Look at the Growth of Saudi Literature

JEDDAH: The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission of Saudi Arabia is getting ready to hold the Jeddah Book Fair, which will take place at Jeddah Superdome from December 11 to 20. Over 1,000 local and foreign publishing houses and agencies from 24 countries will be present at 400 booths.

The exhibition, titled “Jeddah Reads,” is part of the commission’s “Saudi Reads” initiative, which aims to advance Saudi literature by promoting reading and fostering deeper connections between writers and readers.

The Jeddah Book Fair, according to the commission’s CEO, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Wasil, demonstrates the leadership’s ongoing dedication to cultural advancement as well as the swift expansion of the Kingdom’s publishing, translation, and literature industries.

He emphasized the interactive activities offered by the fair to publishers, writers, translators, and the general public. These programs are intended to improve the quality of material, promote creative development, and cultivate knowledge partnerships. The occasion also strengthens Saudi Arabia’s standing as a center of culture that draws significant publishers, content producers, and financiers.

With more than 170 events, including lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, this year’s cultural program honors the Kingdom’s legacy. There will be competitions to encourage reading and creativity, as well as literary and entertainment events geared at younger guests in a special children’s area.
