How Saudi Youth Are Shaping the Future of Retail Digitalisation

Industry leaders told Arab News that Saudi Arabia’s young, tech-savvy population is reshaping how the country’s retail sector uses new technology and artificial intelligence, enabling it to move faster than many of its global competitors.

At the RLC Global Forum in Riyadh, executives told Arab News that the combination of a young population and a lot of money going into AI is changing the industry’s goals. Saudi Arabia is becoming a unique place for the retail industry to grow, learn, and adapt in the digital world. This is because it involves learning how customers behave and leveraging the Kingdom’s growing reputation as a global AI leader.

Abdullah Al-Tamimi, the CEO of the commercial real estate company Hamat Holding, told Arab News that the company wants to study how people behave, with a particular focus on younger people as a crucial aspect of that understanding. It’s a big part of what we do every day,” he said. He also claimed that the company spends a lot of time and money figuring out what customers want and how they act and then fixing any mistakes.

Al-Tamimi stressed the importance of paying great attention to minor things, saying that younger customers are especially aware of the whole experience and “deserve that we work around the clock to make it better.
