The UAE has joined 35 other countries in signing the Joint Statement on AI Opportunities during the second Pax Silica Summit in Washington, D.C., reinforcing its commitment to the responsible development of artificial intelligence.
The meeting gathered together governments and prominent technology companies to establish trusted AI supply chains and develop safe digital infrastructure. The UAE team was led by Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State, and featured Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, alongside members from G42, Core42, MGX and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). Officials said the UAE’s involvement showed the country’s increasing AI ecosystem and its role as a trusted international partner in developing and deploying responsible AI technologies.
On the sidelines of the summit, the UAE held bilateral meetings with the United States and other Pax Silica members, including Qatar, Finland, India, Israel, the European Union, South Korea, Norway, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Singapore and the United Kingdom, to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Al Hajeri said the UAE and the United States have created a strong strategic partnership founded on shared aspirations, adding that the Pax Silica initiative provides a realistic framework to enhance cooperation through investment, joint ventures, and trusted AI development.
