The Future of Road Transport in Dubai: A Look at the Latest Infrastructure

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced a large road rehabilitation project that will start in July at 28 various locations throughout the city. The program, known as “Quick Wins,” is a component of the RTA’s larger plan to improve its road network in Dubai.

The Quick Wins project’s main goals are to increase operational effectiveness, guarantee safer and more efficient traffic flow, and promote connectivity between residential areas, educational zones, and development regions.

The development of Emirates Road, which will add two extra lanes across a five-kilometer span from the Emirate of Sharjah to Al Amardi Street, is one of the most notable projects. According to the RTA, the update is anticipated to cut travel times by about 25% during peak hours.

Additionally, there are plans to enhance traffic at the intersection of Trade Centre Street and Marasi Drive in Business Bay, Latifa Bint Hamdan Street close to Al Quoz Industrial Area, and Ras Al Khor Road leading to Al Khail Road.

These include expanding a lane on Algeria Street in Al Mizhar 4 before the entrance to the labor accommodations, adding a new lane at the intersection of Al Khawaneej Street and Al Amardi Street, and upgrading the right-turn movement on Ras Al Khor Road towards Dubai–Al Ain Road from one lane to two.
