How Oman's 14-Day Free Visa Could Boost Tourism and Travel

Oman has announced revisions to several of the articles of the executive regulations of the Foreigners’ Residence Law in the Sultanate in a bid to attract more visitors from across the globe including introducing a new 14-day tourist visa that is absolutely free of cost.

Oman is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Gulf area. It enjoys a rich cultural legacy and heaven-like natural beauty while allowing visitors a chance to taste the true Arabian hospitality. Whether for adventure or relaxation, the Sultanate welcomes millions of tourists each year from the summits of the Hajar Mountains to the waterfalls of Salalah during the Khareef (monsoon) Dhofar season in summer.

While the rest of the Gulf is experiencing peak summer heat, the Governorate of Dhofar is turned into a lush and magnificent green paradise during the Khareef season that kicked off this year on June 21. It will be open until Sept. 21. According to Khaleej Times, there are a number of activities and attractions across the governorate that tourists to Salalah can enjoy. The calendar for this year also includes 125 cultural, artistic, sporting and entertainment events, including waterfalls and sinkholes, Dhofar Municipality announced, besides beaches.
