RIYADH: As part of their ongoing campaign against extremist propaganda online, the Global Centre for Combating Extremist Ideology, also known as Etidal, and Telegram have collaborated to remove 34,290,268 items of extremist content and shut down 1,275 channels that were used to publish and promote such material during the first half of 2026.
This was accomplished through the efforts of both organizations. As of the 30th of June, the total number of things eliminated and channels closed since the beginning of the collaboration in February 2022 is currently equal to 292,597,845 and 20,362 respectively.
The continued cooperation shows that the two parties’ collaborative efforts have successfully reduced the dissemination of extremist propaganda and enhanced the security of the internet environment. The effectiveness of the collaborative efforts of the two parties in reducing the dissemination of extremist propaganda is demonstrated by the mutual collaboration that has been maintained.
