UAE Reacts to Deadly Attack Targeting UN Peacekeepers in South Sudan

The authority emphasized the United Arab Emirates’ full support for international efforts to maintain security, stability, and peace, as well as to provide humanitarian assistance in areas that are experiencing conflict. More specifically, the authority expressed the UAE’s full solidarity with the international peacekeeping forces of the United Nations and the countries that are participating in those forces.

In addition, it conveyed its heartfelt condolences and compassion to the families and relatives of the victims, as well as to the United Nations, and it wished for the injured to make a rapid recovery.The ministry reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ vehement condemnation of the attacks that targeted peacekeeping forces, which represent a violation of international law and Resolution 2802 of the Security Council. The United Arab Emirates has issued a vehement condemnation of the attack that attacked a patrol of United Nations peacekeeping personnel in Jonglei State, South Sudan. The attack resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to others.
