According to the Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority, the logistical corridor connecting Sharjah and Oman saw a 66.26% increase in cargo value during its first three months of operation. Cargo transported across the corridor was valued around Dh1.7 billion, compared to the same period last year. Truck movements exceeded 34,000, and over 32,000 customs declarations were processed.The Authority, in collaboration with Oman Customs, started the corridor in May 2026 with the goal of developing an integrated logistics and customs system that connects seaports to land border crossings and increasing trade between the UAE and Oman.
According to the Authority, the integrated approach shortens the cargo trip from beginning to end while also reducing handling steps and procedures. According to Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, the Authority’s director of Border Crossings and Entry Points Affairs, the early results demonstrate the success of the project’s vision.
From the start, our goal was to provide the business community with much more than just a transit route. “We created an integrated logistics ecosystem that provides companies with more efficient and flexible options, shortens cargo journeys, and helps reduce both time and operational burdens,” he said.
