An Indian designer who runs a store in Dubai has asked for privacy after her son was involved in a car accident that killed three teenagers. Nooha Sajeev, who owns a boutique in Karama, shared a video on her boutique’s social media sites asking for privacy.
I know how parents teach their children with love and many dreams. She said in her video that losing them is inconceivable. “Whatever I say will not ease the pain of the families. I hope the investigation proceeds honestly. In these difficult times, I ask for privacy for our family. I am a normal mother, and I ask you to stop spreading rumors about my family and me.
The video has gone viral on Instagram with millions of views and more than 2000 comments. Comments on the post are currently limited. That came amid a torrent of social media videos and photographs claiming to replicate the disaster.
Suhail Sajeev, 19, is said to have driven a Mini Cooper into the scooter, which was carrying three teenagers, in the southern Indian state of Kerala on 11 October. His blood alcohol levels were said to be well beyond the permissible limits, Indian media said.
Suhail and three companions who were with him in the automobile have been arrested. He is accused of “culpable homicide not amounting to murder” among other charges. The court denied bail to the young men on October 17.
