Who Stands to gain from Undermining Jordan's Security?

RIYADH: Protests in front of the Israeli Embassy in Amman are getting more intense as Jordan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, steps up calls for the UN Security Council Stands to adopt a binding Chapter VII resolution that would compel Israel to stop “the war crimes being committed in Gaza and reverse its decision to close border crossings to humanitarian aid.”

This occurred amid security measures meant to prevent the protests from worsening; a Jordanian legislator called them “not innocent.”

The PSD “handled some protests and gatherings that took place in some areas of the capital,” the statement continued. The demonstrators were handled with the most professionalism and discipline by the security officers who were on hand to keep everything under control. The public security officers have been working on this for several months, during which thousands of people demonstrated in the streets and nobody was prevented from voicing their opinions.

This was in contrast to the protests that took place in the initial days of the war and despite Jordan’s intensified diplomatic efforts aimed at securing an immediate ceasefire and allowing the entry of humanitarian aid and relief.
