Tuesday’s sighting of the Shawwal crescent in the United Arab Emirates ignited a national celebration mood for Eid Al Fitr. The UAE’s Vice-President, Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wished the UAE’s citizens a happy Eid as well as the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Sheikh Mohammed ‘congratulated the people of the Emirates and other Arab and Islamic peoples on Eid’ in a social media post. In his letter, he prayed, “May God cover us all with His blessings and give us the chance to commemorate this happy event with goodness and wealth. May we be acknowledged for our obedience during this auspicious month.”
The Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also greeted all. He posted on X, saying: “We would like to extend our congratulations on Eid Al Fitr to our leadership, our people, and all Muslims worldwide. May it provide everyone with happiness, blessings, and wealth.
The UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, congratulated the nation’s leaders on the milestone. He wrote: “We pray to God to spread peace, security, and goodness to the entire world, and we thank Him for allowing us to complete the holy month of fasting and obedience.” Eid is a special day.
