The Saudi Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday that if a person enters Makkah to perform the Hajj again without a permit, they could be fined up to SR100,000.
The ministry announced that anyone entering Makkah without a Hajj permit between Dhul Qada 25, 1445, equivalent to June 2, 2024, and Dhul Hijjah 14, comparable to June 20, will be fined SR 10,000.
Anyone found in the holy cities of Makkah, the Central Haram Area, the Holy Sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, the Haramain train station in Rusayfah, security control centres, pilgrims’ grouping centres, and temporary security control centres without a valid Hajj permit will face penalties. There will be consequences.
According to the ministry, anyone found in the designated area of Makkah without a valid Hajj permit will be fined SR10,000. This includes Saudi nationals, foreign nationals, and tourists. The ministry affirmed that if a violator commits the same offense twice, the fine will be doubled and could reach SR 100,000. Among the violators are expatriates who will have their passports revoked and be prohibited from entering the Kingdom for the duration of the legal prohibition.
The ministry emphasized that pilgrims must follow all Hajj rules and guidelines to fulfill their rites comfortably and easily. The ministry previously announced that anyone found transporting people in violation of the Hajj rules and instructions is punished with imprisonment for up to six months and a maximum fine of SR50,000.
