UAE Finds "Terror-Linked" Group Founded by International Fugitives

According to a statement on WAM, the UAE claimed that prosecutors had discovered a brand-new covert organization founded by terrorists who were on the run from other governments.

According to investigations by the Public Prosecution, members of the “Reform Call,” an organization that was once considered a terrorist organization in the nation, have gone into hiding and organized a new covert group overseas.

Although the Reform Call was scheduled to dissolve in 2013, WAM noted that the new organization sought to revitalize the former group and pursue comparable goals.

The statement added that the confessions of an organization member who had been detained provided details on the group’s composition, operations, and members’ roles in endangering the stability of the United Arab Emirates.

2013 sentencing in absentia for fugitives from several emirates has been under observation by the UAE State Security Department.

According to the report, the monitoring identified two factions inside the organization that got together overseas and enlisted new members to start a new group.

Further inquiry showed that some of these members were financially supported by “other terrorist groups and organizations outside the country” in addition to sources within the United Arab Emirates.
