The AlUla Dates Festival Promotes Regional Farming

Riyadh: This week saw a great turnout of farmers and investors for the AlUla Dates Festival, which is organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla.

The region’s rich agricultural heritage and growth potential were highlighted by the 110 tonnes of dates that were received on the festival’s first day.

The commission, in partnership with a number of public and private organisations, organised the event, which supports regional farmers and advances sustainable agriculture.   The goal of workshops and training courses is to improve AlUla dates’ competitiveness and quality in domestic and international markets.

The festival provides investors with a chance to purchase premium dates from a prestigious area. Every Friday and Saturday until November 9th, the festival takes place in AlUla Dates are significant in AlUla both economically and socially. Approximately three million palm trees yield 120,000 tonnes of dates per year, making the area a major player in the agricultural industry. The festival displays the excellence and diversity of AlUla’s date varieties.
