How Sovereign AI Can Strengthen Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure in the GCC

1001, a London-based AI firm with a presence in Dubai, has raised $30 million in Series A funding as they intensify their efforts to develop autonomous AI for vital infrastructure around the Gulf Cooperation Council. With the additional funding, 1001 will expand its commercial and go-to-market presence throughout important GCC regions and grow its workforce, particularly in the engineering department.

The organization already pulls top technological talent from prominent global institutions including Yale, Stanford and Carnegie Mellon.“The GCC runs some of the world’s most important infrastructure, managing a significant share of global oil flows, container traffic and international aviation,” said Bilal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and CEO of 1001. “Business leaders here don’t just want pilots. They want autonomous systems that produce quantifiable outcomes and make thousands of reliable judgments in real time. This round allows us to delve deeper and bring the greatest local and international talent to the task we have set out to undertake.

1001’s systems are applicable to any high-value operational issues where improved data and intelligence can enhance decision-making, including the entire spectrum of physical and essential infrastructure, such as manufacturing, energy, ports and logistics, aviation, and industrials.
