Madinah’s Industrial Growth Surge: Inside the Rise of 458 Active Factories

RIYADH: By the end of 2025, the Madinah region had 458 operational factories, ranking fifth among Saudi Arabia’s regions. This illustrates the industrial sector’s ongoing expansion in the area and its growing contribution to economic growth and the accomplishment of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives.

The Madinah Chamber of Commerce’s economic report, released on May 18, demonstrated the region’s industrial sector’s ongoing expansion, with a total of 579 factories—existing, under construction, and other enterprises included. In terms of the number of industries being built by the end of 2025, the region was rated sixth among the Kingdom’s regions.

According to the report, the Madinah region’s industrial sector employed roughly 51,457 people by the end of 2025. This represents 10.7% of the region’s total workforce, which is estimated to be 482,000 people. This indicates the sector’s ongoing growth and the expansion of industrial projects.

The manufacture of food and beverage items, basic, canned, and prepared food items, rubber and plastic products, packaging operations, and chemical industries are among the most important industrial activity in the area. Paper and paper-based products, non-metallic minerals, basic metals, and metals and metal products are also manufactured in this industry.
