On Thursday, during the 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Islamic Development Bank signed two agreements to boost water security and strengthen development cooperation. These agreements were signed in Baku.

The agreements were signed in the presence of Mohammad Al-Jasser, president of the International Development Bank and head of the IsDB Group, as reported by SPA. Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan, was also present that day.

The agreements were signed by Dr. Rami Ahmad, the vice president of operations for the International Development Bank (IDB), and Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan and head of the board of governors of the IsDB.

They represent a new step in the process of developing the long-term collaboration between Azerbaijan and the International Development Bank (IDB) in order to support sustainability in economic transformation, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
