Nouf Al-Marwaai Received Recognition for his Advocacy of Yoga in Saudi Arabia.

JEDDAH: Nouf Al-Marwaai, president of the Saudi Yoga Committee, was recognised by India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar for her contributions to the yoga community in Saudi Arabia.

As a component of the second News18 SheShakti Summit, which aims to highlight the leadership and contributions of women leaders in politics, the arts, social work, and other fields, the ceremony was recently held in New Delhi.

The summit, with the theme “Breaking Barriers,” brought together a remarkable group of trailblazers from a variety of industries, including politics, science, the arts, business, sport, and entertainment. These individuals shared their ground-breaking experiences and leadership, resilience, and empowerment lessons, demonstrating the unstoppable momentum of women.

Al-Marwaai, who got interested in yoga after experiencing serious health issues, spoke about her experience on a SheShakti 2024 panel alongside American spiritual leader, speaker, author, and social activist Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati. She claimed that when she was eighteen, she faced serious health issues, and doctors informed her parents that she had little chance of surviving.

Later, after receiving a book from my father, I began to practise yoga. It wasn’t easy to understand. In 1998, medical professionals informed my parents that I would not be able to survive,” Al-Marwaai remarked.
