The Transport General Authority (TGA) stepped up its inspection efforts at Saudi Arabia’s main airports to combat unlicensed passenger transport operations.
During Ramadan, the authorities found 2,194 instances of these infractions; as a result, 1,217 vehicles were seized, and 126 repeat offenders were identified. According to the inspections, which took place across multiple important airports, 38% of the infractions were found at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, 30% at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, 15% at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, 12% at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and 5% at Taif International Airport.
Thirty percent at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, fifteen percent at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, twelve percent at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and five percent at Taif International Airport.
The TGA’s campaign aims to improve passenger safety by ensuring all airport transportation services are authorized and compliant with laws.The authority’s resolute dedication to this objective is demonstrated by its strict enforcement measures, which include levying penalties of up to SR5,000 and impounding cars—the expense of which the violators bear.
