How UAE’s MBR School of Government Is Shaping the Future of AI Governance

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) in the UAE has created the Master in Innovation Management and AI Governance (MIMAIG), the first curriculum of its kind to focus on government policy and innovation governance for preparing future leaders for rapid digital transformation.

The programme blends innovation management, AI governance, public policy and strategic leadership in a “quintuple helix” paradigm that integrates theory, experiential education and personal development.

The 180-credit programme comprises 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation. It is a hybrid learning style, with weekend in-person and online classes, and students can complete the program full-time in 18 months or part-time in two years.

Participants will also have the option to join international field tours to technological centers, embassies and international organisations to get a feel of global governance methods and innovation models.

“The program is a key step in empowering government leaders to navigate the impact of artificial intelligence on the public sector,” said Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG. Artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming the public sector and governments will need qualified, agile leaders who can navigate complex and unprecedented transformations,” he said.
