JD Vance Defends Iran Deal Amid Backlash From Israeli Critics

JD Vance, the vice president of the United States, backed the agreement to end the Iran War on Thursday, stating that he will likely travel to Switzerland for negotiations to make it permanent. Vance stated, “The Iranians have to perform,” at a White House briefing as President Donald Trump came under increasing fire over the agreement.

They lose out on all of the advantages of the deal if they don’t perform as we’ve previously stated.Vance, a war skeptic who has emerged as the public face of the agreement Trump signed at Versailles on Wednesday, denied allegations that the agreement benefits Iran without fulfilling Trump’s war objectives.

Oil sales, the lifting of sanctions, and a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran have been the most contentious issues; nonetheless, there is no clear plan to end Iran’s nuclear program.

However, Vance stated that Iran will only receive the benefits if it can demonstrate that it has complied with the conditions to be worked out over a 60-day period, which he claimed began on Thursday after the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed.

The final transaction, the gentleman’s agreements, and the Memorandum of Understanding are all discussed extensively. We’re about verification, ladies and gentlemen, words don’t matter,” Vance told reporters. According to Vance, the US military “has allowed north of a dozen ships to go through our naval blockade, and so we’re also honoring our end of the early part of the agreement,” the journalist said.
