Saudi Nationals can Enter Sri Lanka Without a Visa Starting on October 1

According to reports on Thursday, Saudi Arabian nationals can enter Sri Lanka without a visa starting on October 1. Harin Fernando, adviser to the ministry of tourism, made this announcement.

“The historic decision to grant Saudi citizens visa-free access to Sri Lanka will serve as a catalyst to boost tourism and enhance business exchanges between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia,” said Ameer Ajwad, the ambassador of Sri Lanka to Saudi Arabia, in an interview with Arab News.

It would improve “people-to-people contacts,” Ajwad continued, and it coincides with this year’s 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The Sri Lankan government announced on Thursday that nationals of 35 nations can enter the country without a valid visa.

The United Kingdom, China, the United States, India, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Denmark, Poland, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Indonesia, Russia, and Thailand are among them.

Malaysia, Japan, France, Canada, Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Israel, Belarus, Iran, Sweden, South Korea, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and New Zealand are among the countries on the list.

Sri Lanka’s tourism development office revealed information in July showing that Saudi Arabia ranks third among the country’s tourist destinations.
