How the New King Salman Park in Riyadh will Offer an Urban Sanctuary for Wildlife

RIYADH: Few people probably envision a glittering modern skyline interspersed with green spaces alive with the sound of birds and insects when they picture a rapidly growing desert city. But in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, this dream is quickly coming true.

King Salman Park, which is expected to open in 2025 and span roughly 16.6 square kilometres, will grow to be the biggest of its kind globally. As a flagship project of Saudi Vision 2030, it will improve quality of life and increase the number of green spaces in the city.

According to architect Khaled Al-Ojyan of Green Riyadh, King Salman Park will completely alter Riyadh’s urban environment, Arab News was informed. “This ambitious project, which will transform the city into a more vibrant, sustainable, and green environment, perfectly aligns with Vision 2030.”

Building is moving forward quickly, with contracts worth over $1 billion granted to lead the way. The project is a significant component of a larger $23 billion infrastructure revitalisation project in Riyadh, including $15 billion in private sector contributions.
