RIYADH: To introduce investors to the region’s tourism industry, the Asir Region Development Authority is taking part in the International Hospitality Investment Forum in Hong Kong.
The Saudi Press Agency said on Tuesday that the authority held meetings with foreign investors and has a pavilion at the exhibition, which runs until September 11.
Attending the session “Catalysts of Tourism and Hospitality Investment: Infrastructure, Regulation, Policy and Mega Projects” was Sultan Al-Shehri, the authority’s chief of investment.
Al-Shehri stated that the ongoing changes in Asir reflect the Kingdom’s larger goals for economic diversification and investment. The idea is to make the area a popular travel destination worldwide. The authority’s attendance at the forum comes to an end with the summer season this year. Over the past seven months, Asir has been visited by an estimated 1.1 million tourists.
