How Saudi Women Are Shaping the Intersection of AI and Cybersecurity

DHAHRAN: A group of Ph.D. candidates at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals are striving to find solutions to some of the most urgent technological problems of the modern period in a quiet area of the institution.

Asma Yamani and Linah Ali Abuhajar, two researchers working at the nexus of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence fields that are rapidly influencing the direction of technology are among them. Founded in 1963 as an all-male university focused on STEM, KFUPM welcomed women in 2019. Creating a supportive and cooperative community was one of the primary concerns for the students in this story, who are among the first generation of women to attend and graduate from the university.

Yamani told Arab News, We like to highlight experts who happen to be women. The university’s annual Women in Data Science conference, which was organized under the topic “AI-Security Nexus” as part of the global WiDS Worldwide project, recently brought that idea to reality. About 250 people from all over the area attended the event.
