RIYADH: One of Saudi Arabia’s senior officials said that as Riyadh prepares to host the World Economic Forum, the Saudi capital has become a shining example of “thought leadership, action, and solutions.”
The minister of finance and planning, Faisal Al-Ibrahim, made the remarks before the summit on global cooperation, growth, and energy for development, which is scheduled for April 28 and 29. The summit’s objective is to enable leaders from the public and private sectors to address shared global concerns.
The WEF website states that in addition to bridging the expanding North-South global gap on problems including new economic policies, the energy transition, and geopolitical shocks, the gathering will also progress important forum activities in the region and beyond.
“The crown prince’s support of the World Economic Forum Special Meeting in Riyadh is evidence of our leadership’s commitment to bringing people together to take action and deepen international cooperation on the pressing issues of our day,” Al-Ibrahim wrote in a post on X.
Inviting world leaders to “build bridges toward a secure, stable, and sustainable future,” he welcomed them to this critical juncture in social, economic, and human growth.
